STUDIO K JOLESZ is a Portland-based architectural design and interiors studio established by Klara Jolesz.
Our process is fueled by research and a desire to transform spaces into compelling environments, overturning traditional ideas about materials, function, and economic relationships.
Each project utilizes a hands-on approach, taking design beyond the two-dimensional, by working in the field with contractors, craftspeople, and artists. Our goal: to deliver bespoke spaces that tell a story of the inhabitants that is uniquely personal and reflects their singular sense of home.
We are always seeking opportunities to innovate and be more intentional in what we build. We believe that even the smallest act of architecture should be meaningful.
Klara Jolesz grew up in Boston and Budapest, and has lived in Montreal, Los Angeles, and Portland, OR. She has worked in the film industry as a film editor, as well as in production and set design, experiences which helped her hone her understanding of the power of narrative in creating visually intriguing and emotionally resonant spaces. She received her Masters in Architecture in 2013 and has been building and designing ever since.
Current studio projects include an ADU in SE Portland, a cafe in the Maplewood neighborhood of SW Portland, and the reinvigoration of a rural estate in Mosier, OR.
